Ogbonnia is still listed as questionable for Monday night. The Chargers opened the defensive end's 21-day activation window Oct. 19. The second-year player ruptured his left patellar tendon in 2022 after playing in seven games and recording 14 tackles.

The Chargers opened the 21-day activation window from the PUP list for Ogbonnia (kneecap) on Thursday, Eric Smith of the team's official site reports.
Ogbonnia's activation window has been opened and he was spotted participating in individual drills during Thursday's practice, per Daniel Popper of The Athletic. The 23-year-old recorded 14 total tackles, including one tackle for loss, in seven appearances before rupturing his left patellar tendon in 2022.

The Chargers shifted Ogbonnia (kneecap) to the reserve/PUP list Tuesday.
Ogbonnia opened training camp on the active/PUP list after he missed the final 11 games of last season with a ruptured left patellar tendon. It appears the 23-year-old is still recovering from this issue, and he will now have to sit out at least the first four games of the 2023 campaign. The 2022 fifth-round pick out of UCLA missed the Chargers' final 11 games last year after suffering a kneecap injury during Week 7. Ogbonnia appeared in seven games for Los Angeles before the injury, racking up 14 tackles and one tackle for loss. There is still no timetable for his return.

The Chargers placed Ogbonnia (kneecap) on injured reserve Wednesday.
Ogbonnia was officially placed on IR after exiting Sunday's loss to the 49ers with a ruptured left patellar tendon, which will leave him sidelined for the remainder of the season. While the rookie defensive tackle primarily played a reserve role over seven games this season, his injury comes at the worst possible time, as veteran defensive lineman Christian Covington (pectoral) is also set to miss at least the next four weeks while on IR. As a result, the Chargers signed Tyeler Davison off the Browns' practice squad Wednesday to help provide depth behind likely starting nose tackle Breiden Fehoko moving forward.

Chargers coach Brandon Staley said that Ogbonnia has a ruptured patellar tendon and is set to miss the remainder of the season, Jeff Miller of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Ogbonnia was previously expected to sit out the rest of the season due to a quad injury suffered during Sunday's loss to the 49ers. However, it appears he actually ruptured his left patellar tendon, leaving him with a 6-to-12-month recovery based on the usual timetable for such injuries. Ogbonnia will finish his rookie season campaign with 14 tackles and 133 defensive snaps played, and he'll now shift his focus to returning by the start of the 2023 season.

The Chargers selected Ogbonnia in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 160th overall.
The Chargers are betting on Ogbonnia's size (6-foot-4, 323 pounds) making him a quality run stopper, but the UCLA product tended to play too upright at the line of scrimmage to make much of an impact in that regard during his college career. Expect the fifth-round pick to be a rotational piece in the interior defensive line along with offseason free-agent additions Sebastian Joseph-Day and Austin Johnson.
