Player Outlook
Henry fell in 2022 Fantasy drafts with the expectation that age would catch up to him, but he responded as the RB3 in PPR and RB1 in non-PPR by racking up the second-most carries and third-most rushing yards in the NFL. He did all that despite injuries that left the quarterback position and offensive line as unproductive as it's ever been during Henry's tenure. The volume king was just that, and Henry saw an expanded role in the pass game with a career high in receptions and targets. Entering 2023 drafts, Fantasy managers are seemingly making the same bet on Henry to fall off in production, but the Titans added arguably the best offensive lineman in the draft to the mix. If you grab Justin Jefferson or Ja'Marr Chase early in Round 1, Henry makes for an excellent pairing at the back end of Round 2.

  • Titans' Derrick Henry: In line to play Monday

Henry was limited at practice Thursday for rest purposes, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports. It's notable that Henry isn't listed with an injury designation on Thursday's practice report, given that he left this past Sunday's game against the Colts to be evaluated for a concussion. Since then, Wyatt relays that Henry has been feeling good, with no concussion symptoms, and will be ready to play in Monday night's game against the Dolphins. The running back thus is set to continue to pace Tennessee's Week 14 backfield, with Tyjae Spears on hand to work in a complementary role.

  • Titans' Derrick Henry: Sit Him (Lineup Decisions)

In three games this year when the Titans have lost by two-plus scores, Henry has averaged 10.7 attempts and 27.3 rushing yards per game and a miserable 3.5 PPR points per game. It's the only game script that might/should tank Henry's numbers -- in Titans wins and one-score losses Henry has averaged really good Fantasy numbers, though much of them are because he scores. The Dolphins run defense is giving up 4.1 yards per carry, but 3.9 in its past four. It has allowed six rushing touchdowns all year, none in its past five games. If the game isn't as close as the oddsmakers have made it out to be (13.5-point spread), then Henry's going to have a tough game. I would rather start upside plays in Keaton Mitchell, Chuba Hubbard and Jerome Ford.

  • Titans' Derrick Henry: Bust Alert (Start/Sit)

Henry is expected to play on Monday night at Miami after leaving Week 13 against the Colts with a head injury, but this could be a tough spot for him. The Dolphins are No. 6 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs, and Miami has recently held D'Andre Swift (10.5 PPR points), Rhamondre Stevenson (7.0 PPR points), Isiah Pacheco (6.6 PPR points), Josh Jacobs (6.1 PPR points) and Breece Hall (11.9 PPR points) to minimal stat lines. The Dolphins also haven't allowed a rushing touchdown to a running back since Week 7. The game script for Henry could be bad this week with the Dolphins favored at home by nearly two touchdowns. In games where the Titans have lost by more than eight points, which has happened three times, Henry has scored 5.4 PPR points or less in each outing. This could be a bad week to trust Henry in the majority of leagues.

  • Titans' Derrick Henry: Avoids concussion

Titans head coach Mike Vrabel said Monday that Henry is not in concussion protocol, John Glennon of NashvillePost.com reports. Henry didn't return to Sunday's 31-28 overtime loss to the Colts after exiting in the fourth quarter to be checked for a concussion, and Adam Schefter of ESPN reported after the game concluded that the running back was following the protocol. A day later, however, Vrabel said that Henry won't be subject to the protocol ahead of the Titans' Week 14 game against the Dolphins in Miami, with the coach noting that the three-time Pro Bowler felt fine after going through a workout Monday and hasn't been exhibiting any symptoms of a concussion. Assuming Henry doesn't experience any setbacks within the next few days, he should be ready to return to the field as a full participant when the Titans resume practicing Thursday. Before departing the loss to Indianapolis, Henry turned in a quality outing for fantasy managers, carrying 21 times for 102 yards and two touchdowns while adding an 18-yard reception on two targets.

  • Titans' Derrick Henry: Officially in concussion protocol

Henry was placed in the league's concussion protocol following a Week 13 loss to the Colts, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Henry departed Sunday's 31-28 overtime loss to be checked for a concussion, and he's indeed been placed in the NFL's five-step protocol. He won't be eligible to suit up for game action until gaining full clearance, which puts the veteran running back's status for the Titans' upcoming Monday Night Football matchup against Miami in jeopardy. If Henry misses any time, rookie Tyjae Spears would get his first opportunity to start. Spears rushed the ball 16 times for 75 yards and added four receptions on six targets for 13 yards Sunday.

  • Titans' Derrick Henry: Exits Sunday's game

Henry exited Sunday's game against the Colts with a possible concussion, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports. Before exiting the contest to be evaluated for a concussion, Henry carried 21 times for 102 yards and two TDs and caught one of his two targets for 18 yards. In Henry's absence, Tyjae Spears is next up for the Titans' backfield work. Next up for Tennessee is a Monday night contest against the Dolphins on Dec. 11.

  • Titans' Derrick Henry: Finds end zone twice

Henry rushed the ball 18 times for 76 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 17-10 win over the Panthers. He added one reception on two targets for zero yards. It wasn't quite a vintage performance from Henry, but he nonetheless powered the Titans' offense. He tallied long gains of 18 and 15 yards and also found the end zone from one and 10 yards away. It was a needed bounce-back effort for Henry, as he entered Sunday's contest with only 238 rushing yards across his last four games combined. It was also his first multi-touchdown performance of the season, bringing his total to six on the campaign.

  • Titans' Derrick Henry: Listed as full practice participant

Henry (ankle) was listed as a full participant on Thursday's practice estimate, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports. Henry was deemed limited in Wednesday's session, but his full listing a day later indicates that the running back's initial listing was indicative of load management rather than an injury that could impact his Week 12 availability. He thus is slated to continue to lead the Titans backfield Sunday against the Panthers, a role that has led to him logging double-digit carries in all 10 games that he's played in, though he's been held to 62 yards on 21 carries over his last two outings.

  • Titans' Derrick Henry: Limited by ankle issue

Henry was a limited participant at practice Wednesday due to an ankle injury, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports. During the Titans' 34-14 loss to the Jaguars this past Sunday, Henry logged 25 of 40 snaps on offense, rushing 10 times for 38 yards and adding one catch for six yards. At this stage, the Titans haven't suggested that Henry's Week 12 availability is in danger, and it's possible that his listed limitations Wednesday were maintenance-related. With that in mind, Henry will presumably need to practice fully by Friday in order to avoid an injury designation ahead of Sunday's game against the Panthers.

  • Titans' Derrick Henry: Held to 44 total yards

Henry rushed the ball 10 times for 38 yards in Sunday's 34-14 loss to the Jaguars. He added one reception for six yards. The Titans had the ball for just over 23 minutes and ran only 38 offensive plays in the blowout loss. That limited the potential for their skill-position players to produce, and Henry's line was illustrative of that. Positively, he still led Tennessee's backfield in carries and yards. On the other hand, Henry has only 21 carries for 62 yards combined across his last two games.

  • Titans' Derrick Henry: Completely stymied in Week 10 loss

Henry rushed 11 times for 24 yards and brought in his only target for minus-4 yards in the Titans' 20-6 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday. Henry's final numbers essentially spell out how frustrating an afternoon it was for the star running back. His rush attempts tied a season low, while his yardage tally was only higher than his 20-yard effort versus the Browns in Week 3. Game script increasingly put a crimp on Henry's opportunities Sunday, and he'll have another tough matchup on the ground versus the Jaguars in a Week 11 divisional road clash.

  • Titans' Derrick Henry: Well-rounded effort in loss

Henry rushed 17 times for 75 yards and a touchdown and brought in three of four targets for 27 yards in the Titans' 20-16 loss to the Steelers on Thursday night. Henry turned in what can be labeled as a prototypical 2023 effort for him, as he made some solid contributions in the passing game alongside a workman-like effort on the ground. The bruising back scored his fourth touchdown of the campaign just past the halfway point of the second quarter as well on a two-yard run, making it an above-average fantasy night. Henry will look to extend his streak of at least 75 rushing yards to four games when the Titans visit the Buccaneers in a Week 10 road matchup on Nov. 12.

  • Titans' Derrick Henry: Good to go Thursday

Henry (ankle) doesn't carry an injury designation for Thursday's game against the Steelers. Henry, who was listed as a limited participant Monday and Tuesday, was deemed a full practice participant Wednesday and has been cleared to face the Steelers. He'll be joined in the backfield by rookie quarterback Will Levis, who will make a second straight start while Ryan Tannehill (ankle) remains sidelined once again. Henry, whom the Titans elected not to move prior to Tuesday's trade deadline, is thus set to pace the team's rushing attack versus Pittsburgh. Though Levis authored a four-touchdown performance in his NFL debut last week against the Falcons, Henry was able to enjoy a productive day of his own despite not finding the end zone. The running back finished with 22 carries for 101 yards and caught all four of his targets for 21 yards.

  • Titans' Derrick Henry: Limited again Tuesday

Henry (ankle) was listed as limited on Tuesday's estimated practice report, Ben Arthur of FoxSports.com reports. For a second consecutive day, Henry was operating with a cap on his reps at Tuesday's walkthrough, giving him just one more chance to log every on-field rep before the Titans potentially hand him a designation for Thursday's game at Pittsburgh. With backup running back Tyjae Spears (ankle) getting a full listing on Tuesday's report after being limited Monday, he appears to be a bit more healthy than Henry as the team makes its way through Week 9 prep.

  • Titans' Derrick Henry: Totals 122 yards

Henry rushed the ball 22 times for 101 yards in Sunday's 28-23 win over the Falcons. He added four catches for 21 yards. The Titans built a two-score lead before halftime with a surprisingly efficient passing attack, leaving Henry with only 39 yards on the ground. As the team tried to control time of possession in the second half, his volume increased, which allowed him to top 100 yards on the ground for the second time this season despite his longest gain going for only 14 yards. Henry's production on the ground has taken a significant downturn through seven games, though he's still averaging over four yards per carry and has added 15 receptions to supplement his fantasy value.

  • Titans' Derrick Henry: Unlikely to be traded

The Titans have told Henry he won't be dealt prior to the NFL trade deadline Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. The Titans have reportedly received calls from teams around the league inquiring about Henry's availability. It could make sense for Tennessee to deal him considering its 2-4 record and the fact that Henry is in the final year of his contract. For now, however, it appears he won't be on the move, though nothing will be official until the trade deadline has passed Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET.

  • Titans' Derrick Henry: Big play highlights day

Henry recorded 12 carries for 97 yards in Sunday's 24-16 loss to the Ravens. He added two receptions for 16 yards. Henry was held in check for the majority of the day as the Ravens centered their defensive effort around stopping the run. However, he found space on a direct snap early in the third quarter and ripped off a gain of 63 yards to ultimately set up a field goal for the Titans. One possession later, he tallied the team's only touchdown of the day on a 15-yard scamper into the end zone. While he fell short of the century mark on the ground, Henry has now topped 100 total yards or scored a touchdown in four of six contests this season.

  • Titans' Derrick Henry: Held in check by Colts

Henry rushed the ball 13 times for 43 yards in Sunday's 23-16 loss to the Colts. He added three receptions for 19 yards. After getting on track in Week 4, Henry had a concerning game against the Colts. As his stat line suggests, he was unable to find much room on the ground, and he was also stood up by Zaire Franklin on a key fourth down with only eight minutes remaining in the game -- a play that contributed significantly to the Tennessee loss. Tyjae Spears also saw a significant role in the offense, earning only four touches fewer than Henry. Overall, the effort continued Henry's slow start to the season, as he has 65 or fewer rushing yards in three of his five games.

  • Titans' Derrick Henry: Hits stride in Week 4

Henry rushed the ball 22 times for 122 yards and one touchdown in Sunday's 27-3 win over the Bengals. He added one reception for 11 yards and a two-yard passing touchdown. Henry had seen his production dip in every game this season, though he reversed that trend with his first 100-rushing yard performance of the season. He ripped off several big runs, with his longest gain being a 29-yard run into the end zone, during which he ran through several potential tacklers. Henry also found some unconventional ways to contribute to the offense when he threw a two-yard touchdown to Josh Whyle (ankle) after taking a direct snap at the goal line.

  • Titans' Derrick Henry: Held to 20 yards

Henry rushed 11 times for 20 yards and wasn't targeted in Sunday's 27-3 loss to the Browns. Henry was held to minus-7 yards on four first-half rushing attempts, then saw limited work in the second half as the Titans mustered just three points against the stout Browns defense. The star running back will look to bounce back in Week 4, when the Titans return home to host the Bengals. Cleveland has allowed only one offensive touchdown through three games, so this poor performance can largely be chalked up to a difficult matchup, though Tennessee's poor offensive line play so far this season suggests not much will come easy for Henry in 2023.
