  • Dolphins' Robert Jones: Ready to go for Week 14

Jones (knee) did not appear on the Dolphins' injury report Thursday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.

Jones has been dealing with a knee injury for multiple weeks, but he appears to be ready to go for the team's Week 14 matchup with the Titans on Monday Night Football. The 24-year-old will be back in his starting role at left guard.

  • Dolphins' Durham Smythe: Misses practice Thursday

Smythe (ankle) did not participate at the Dolphins' practice Thursday.

Smythe was unavailable for the team's first practice session of the week due to an ankle injury, which he seemingly picked up last week versus the Commanders. The tight end will have two more opportunities to return to the field prior to Monday's matchup with the Titans.

  • Dolphins' Raheem Mostert: Gets maintenance day Thursday

    Mostert (knee/rest) was a non-participant in Thursday's practice.

Along with Mostert, wide receiver Tyreek Hill (ankle) and offensive tackle Kendall Lamm (back) had "vet rest" attributed to their absences from practice along with their listed injuries, so it's safe to conclude that all three were mainly held out for maintenance purposes more so than because of any concern about their health. Mostert has been a fixture on Miami injury reports this season but has yet to miss a game, and he's logged more than 50 percent of the offensive snaps in all but two of his 12 appearances. He took on a season-low 39 percent share in this past weekend's 45-15 win over the Commanders, though that may have largely been a byproduct of Miami racing out to a 24-point halftime lead.

  • Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Absent for first Week 14 practice

    Hill (ankle/rest) was a non-participant in Thursday's practice.

The fact that Hill's absence for the Dolphins' first Week 14 practice was attributed in part due to "rest" suggests that the ankle issue isn't anything that puts his status in jeopardy for Monday's game against the Titans. Even while playing less than half of the Dolphins' offensive snaps in a 45-15 win over Washington in Week 13, Hill still turned in his third straight 100-yard receiving performance and is now up to 1,481 yards (to go with 93 catches and 12 touchdowns) through his first 12 appearances of the season. He's currently on pace for 2,098 yards over a 17-game slate, which would comfortably surpass Calvin Johnson's single-season record of 1,964 yards established in 2012 (in 16 games).

  • Dolphins' Austin Jackson: Inks three-year extension

Jackson agreed to a three-year, $36 million contract extension with the Dolphins on Thursday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Jackson, a 2020 first-round pick, is in the midst of an impressive 2023 campaign, in which he finally appears to have put it all together on the field after some early-career struggles. The Dolphins declined Jackson's $14.18 million team option for 2024 last offseason after ankle issues limited him to just three games in 2022, but the right tackle now gets a long-term deal to stay in Miami and safeguard Tua Tagovailoa's blindside.
