KIMBERLEY PROCESS
$37.6 BILLION IN ROUGH DIAMOND EXPORTED IN 2006

Participants of the recent World Diamond Council called for stronger internal controls regarding trade, cut and polished diamonds.
They agreed to offer clearer guidelines for the implementation of controls from mine to export and will spot check industry compliance.
The Working Group on Statistics reported that the Kimberley Process monitored $37.6 billion in rough diamond exports in 2006.
