Player Outlook
With the rest of the Rams falling apart around him, Higbee had one of his best years as a pro. His 20.9% target share was a career-high. Unfortunately, he still failed to finish the year as a top-12 tight end largely because he scored three receiving touchdowns despite being targeted 16 times in the red zone. We should expect some regression on the touchdown rate, but we should also expect the target rate to drop with Cooper Kupp healthy. Then again, Higbee actually averaged more targets per game the first eight weeks of the season when Kupp was healthy. We're drafting Higbee as a high-end No. 2 tight end in the double-digit rounds, but he'll deliver a big profit at that cost if his target share doesn't shrink and his touchdown rate regresses.

  • Rams' Tyler Higbee: Remains sidelined at practice

Higbee (neck) didn't practice Thursday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports. Higbee continues to be sidelined during Week 14 prep due to the neck stinger that he sustained this past Sunday against the Browns. He'll thus have just one more chance to mix into drills this week before the Rams potentially make a ruling on his status ahead of Sunday's game at Baltimore.

  • Rams' Tyler Higbee: TEs to Sit

Higbee is dealing with a neck injury, and we'll see if he plays in Week 14 at Baltimore. Even if he's healthy, Higbee is a risky starter in the majority of leagues. The Ravens are No. 9 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing tight ends, and Higbee only has one game this season where he's found the end zone, which was Week 12 at Arizona. Higbee should once again struggle in Week 14.

  • Rams' Tyler Higbee: Sits out Wednesday's walkthrough

Higbee (neck) was a non-participant Wednesday's walk-through session, Bridget Condon of NFL Network reports. Higbee had a concussion check this past Sunday against the Browns, and while he wasn't placed in the protocol, he instead came out of the game with a neck stinger. With an absence under his belt to begin Week 14 prep, he has only two more chances to mix into drills this week before the Rams potentially make a ruling on his availability for Sunday's contest at Baltimore.

  • Rams' Tyler Higbee: Avoids concussion, but has stinger

Coach Sean McVay said Monday that Higbee cleared the concussion protocol but was diagnosed with a neck stinger following Sunday's 36-19 win versus the Browns, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports. Higbee was forced out late in Sunday's game and deemed questionable to return at the time with a potential concussion. He may endure some limitations in practice this week as the Rams prep for Sunday's game in Baltimore.

  • Rams' Tyler Higbee: Exits Sunday's game

Higbee, who is being evaluated for a concussion, is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Browns. Before his departure from the contest, Higbee caught two of his four targets for 35 yards. With Brycen Hopkins inactive, Davis Allen and Hunter Long are the Rams' available TE options versus Cleveland.

  • Rams' Tyler Higbee: TEs to Sit

Higbee did well in Week 12 against Arizona with five catches for 29 yards and two touchdowns on five targets, but that was the first time he scored a touchdown all year. It's also the first time he topped 9.5 PPR points since Week 4, and he's been held to under 30 yards in six of his past seven games. The Browns are No. 1 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing tight ends, and I don't expect Higbee to post back-to-back positive Fantasy outings in Week 13.

  • Rams' Tyler Higbee: Week 13 Waiver Priority List

I don't expect Higbee to do much in Week 13 against the Browns, who are No. 1 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing tight ends, but maybe his production in Week 12 at Arizona is a sign of things to come with Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua slumping. Against the Cardinals, Higbee had five catches for 29 yards and two touchdowns on five targets for a season-high 19.9 PPR points. Just keep in mind that was Higbee's first touchdowns all season. In deeper leagues, you can add Higbee for 1 percent of your FAB.

  • Rams' Tyler Higbee: Rare two-score day Sunday

Higbee brought in all five targets for 29 yards and two touchdowns in the Rams' 37-14 win over the Cardinals on Sunday. The veteran tight end got into the end zone for the first time since Week 16 of last season when he recorded a seven-yard grab to cap off the opening possession of the contest, and he followed it with a five-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter. Higbee's catch total also tied his season high and particularly stood out in light of him having recorded a meager 1-17 line on four targets over the previous pair of contests. Next up for Higbee and the Rams is a Week 13 home matchup against the Browns.

  • Rams' Tyler Higbee: Active Sunday, per usual

Higbee is listed as active Sunday at Arizona, Adam Grosbard of The Orange County Register reports. Initially, the Rams included Higbee on their list of Week 12 inactives, but there was a mistake in submitting them, and instead defensive end Earnest Brown will be a healthy scratch. Higbee thus will handle his customary role as the team's top tight end, which so far has yielded a cumulative 27-303-0 line on 46 targets in 10 games while logging at least 86 percent of the offensive snaps on a weekly basis.

  • Rams' Tyler Higbee: Held without a catch

Higbee failed to secure his only target during Sunday's 20-3 loss to the Packers. Despite playing a typical 91 percent of the snaps on offense, the veteran tight end saw a season-low one target and failed to make a catch for the first time since Week 12 in 2022. Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reported after Sunday's game that coach Sean McVay said that Higbee has been "fighting through a lot of stuff, and is playing with something that restricts his hand on his right thumb." Higbee also appeared to injure his left hand during the game, which could help explain the steep downturn in performance. The Rams' bye in Week 10 couldn't come at a better time with Matthew Stafford (thumb) also on the mend, with Higbee looking to recover in time for a Week 11 conference showdown with the Seahawks.

  • Rams' Tyler Higbee: Bounces back with five catches

Higbee caught five of seven targets for 45 yards during Sunday's 43-20 loss to the Cowboys. The 20-yard catch by Higbee on the Rams' first drive actually tied or eclipsed his receiving total in any of his last three contests, and the veteran accumulated the most yards, targets and receptions in any game since Week 4. Rams wideouts struggled against a stout Cowboys defense, leaving Higbee and running back Darrell Henderson to lead the team in receiving yardage. Notably, Higbee was on the receiving end of two of backup Brett Rypien's 10 passes after Matthew Stafford left with a thumb injury, and he could act as a safety valve for Rypien in Week 9 versus Green Bay if Stafford is forced to miss any time.

  • Rams' Tyler Higbee: TEs to Sit

Higbee again struggled in Week 7 against Pittsburgh with Cooper Kupp back on the field, and it's hard to trust Higbee in most formats moving forward. In three games since Kupp returned from his hamstring injury, Higbee has five catches for 45 yards on nine targets and no touchdowns. It's hard to expect anything to change as long as Matthew Stafford is leaning on Kupp and Puka Nacua, and the Cowboys have only struggled with George Kittle as an opposing tight end this season.

  • Rams' Tyler Higbee: Does little with three targets

Higbee secured one of three targets for seven yards during Sunday' 24-17 loss to the Steelers. For the third straight game, the veteran tight end saw three targets from Matthew Stafford but produced a season-low one catch and seven yards from them. Higbee was actually third on the team in targets behind Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua, a small glimmer of hope in an otherwise dreadful outing. Through seven contests, Higbee has posted a 21-241-0 line and is on pace to finish the season with 51 catches, which would be his lowest total since 2020. He'll try to turn things around Week 8 against a Cowboys defense that was torched by George Kittle for three touchdowns Week 5.

  • Rams' Tyler Higbee: TEs to Sit

Higbee dropped a touchdown in Week 6 against Arizona, and he now has two down games since Cooper Kupp returned to action in Week 5. Against the Eagles in Week 5 and Cardinals in Week 6, Higbee has combined for four catches for 38 yards and no touchdowns on just six targets. This week, he's facing a Steelers defense that has allowed just one touchdown to an opposing tight end, and Higbee is not worth starting in most formats.

  • Rams' Tyler Higbee: Disappoints with two catches

Higbee secured two of three targets for 18 yards during Sunday's 26-9 victory against the Cardinals. The veteran tight end's day was defined by a big drop instead of the two catches he did make. A third-down pass from Matthew Stafford bounced just off of Higbee's fingertips, which turned what would've been a six-yard touchdown into a 25-yard field goal from Brett Maher. Through two games since Cooper Kupp's return to the lineup, Higbee has just six targets and four catches for 38 yards, and the lack of volume makes it difficult to trust him in fantasy lineups while Kupp and rookie Puka Nacua continue to dominate the attention of Stafford. A Steelers defense that has been respectable at defending against tight ends lies in wait in Week 7.

  • Rams' Tyler Higbee: TEs to Sit

Cooper Kupp returned to action in Week 5 against the Eagles, and Higbee had a season-low two catches on just three targets. Prior to Week 5, Higbee had scored at least 11.4 PPR points in each of his two previous games against the Bengals and Colts, but it will be hard to trust Higbee in most leagues with Kupp and Puka Nacua dominating targets. The Cardinals also have yet to allow a tight end to score a touchdown, including matchups with Logan Thomas, Darren Waller, Jake Ferguson and George Kittle.

  • Rams' Tyler Higbee: Season-low two catches

Higbee secured two of three targets for 20 yards during Sunday's 23-14 loss to the Eagles. Higbee, along with Tutu Atwell, seemed to be most affected by the return of Cooper Kupp, as they both saw their number of targets drop precipitously from previous weeks. While the veteran tight end was still able to produce consistent results in years past alongside the superstar wide receiver, the emergence of rookie sensation Puka Nacua gives Matthew Stafford two big options to deluge with targets instead of just Kupp. Higbee is still the unquestioned starter at tight end for the Rams with Brycen Hopkins and Davis Allen combining for six snaps on offense, but that position may not carry much value if he functions as the fourth or fifth option in the passing game.

  • Rams' Tyler Higbee: Sidesteps injury report

Higbee (thumb) wasn't listed on Wednesday's practice report, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports. Higbee's reps were managed last week due to a listed Achilles injury, but he was able to handle a typical 94 percent snap share this past Sunday at Indianapolis on his way to gathering in five of 11 targets for 64 yards. Head coach Sean McVay told Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site Monday that Higbee "got his thumb banged up a little bit" in that contest, but the injury wasn't significant to keep the tight end off the field as Los Angeles kicked off Week 5 prep Wednesday. Higbee looks like he'll be ready to roll for this Sunday's game versus the Eagles.

  • Rams' Tyler Higbee: TEs to Start

Keep an eye on Higbee's thumb, as well as the potential return of Cooper Kupp (hamstring), but I like Higbee as a top-10 Fantasy tight end in Week 5 against the Eagles. He's had two solid games in the past two weeks against the Bengals and Colts, combining for 10 catches and 135 yards on 16 targets over that span. And the Eagles have struggled against tight ends so far this year, allowing the third-most Fantasy points to the position. The majority of that production came against Hunter Henry and T.J. Hockenson in the first two games of the season when Philadelphia had injuries in the secondary, but I'll ride the hot hand of Higbee in Week 5 and use him as a starting option in all leagues.

  • Rams' Tyler Higbee: Tending to thumb injury

Coach Sean McVay said Monday that Higbee "got his thumb banged up a little bit" during Sunday's overtime victory at Indianapolis, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports. After a week in which he tended to an Achilles injury and also signed a three-year extension, Higbee didn't look worse for wear Sunday, gathering in five of 11 targets for 64 yards and no touchdowns while playing 94 percent of the offensive snaps. It'll be interesting to see how the Rams list the tight end on their first Week 5 injury report Wednesday, but the aforementioned workload implies he's still good for his typical workload on game days.
