LaRavia (eye) is doubtful for Friday's game against the Timberwolves. LaRavia is in the midst of a multi-week absence due to a corneal abrasion in his left eye. While he'll likely remain out Friday, it's encouraging that he's deemed doubtful on the initial injury report rather than immediately being ruled out. Although the Grizzlies remain shorthanded, it seems unlikely that LaRavia will have a significant role upon his return.... See More ... See Less

Grizzlies' Jake LaRavia: Re-evaluated in 2-to-3 weeks
The Grizzlies announced Tuesday that LaRavia will undergo a procedure to address a corneal abrasion in his left eye and will be re-evaluated in 2-to-3 weeks. The prolonged shutdown is a major blow to LaRavia, as the Grizzlies were giving him some G League reps in recent days to boost his confidence after a slow start to the campaign. His absence won't have any implications on the Grizzlies' rotation, though it prevents LaRavia from potentially capturing a steady role on the second unit while Memphis is now down six players due to injury and is still awaiting Ja Morant's return from suspension.... Grizzlies' Jake LaRavia: Assigned to G League
LaRavia (eye) was assigned to the G League's Memphis Hustle on Monday. LaRavia has missed the last two games due to a left eye abrasion, but it's relatively encouraging that he'll get some work in with the G League club. He's slated to be recalled by the parent club Tuesday.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jake LaRavia: Out Sunday
LaRavia (eye) is out for Sunday's game against the Celtics. LaRavia will miss his second straight on account of a left eye abrasion. He isn't a regular part of Memphis' rotation, so his absence Sunday should largely go unnoticed.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jake LaRavia: Doubtful Sunday
LaRavia (eye) is doubtful for Sunday's matchup against the Celtics. LaRavia is dealing with an eye abrasion and will likely miss a second straight game.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jake LaRavia: Iffy for Saturday
LaRavia is questionable for Saturday's game versus the Spurs due to a left eye abrasion. LaRavia was recalled from the G League for Saturday's game but is dealing with an eye issue. If he's downgraded to out, his absence is unlikely to affect Memphis' rotation.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jake LaRavia: Returns to NBA
The Grizzlies recalled LaRavia from the G League's Memphis Hustle on Wednesday. LaRavia is averaging 3.4 points and 1.6 rebounds in 12.2 minutes across his five appearances for the Grizzlies this season. The second-year forward will be available for Saturday's game versus the Spurs.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jake LaRavia: Doubtful Friday
LaRavia is doubtful for Friday's game against the Jazz due to a left great toe contusion. LaRavia hasn't played in the Grizzlies' past three games and was recently assigned to the G League. Even though he's been recalled, he probably won't take the floor.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jake LaRavia: Team option picked up
The Grizzlies exercised LaRavia's third-year team option Monday. LaRavia didn't see the floor much as a rookie in 2022-23, averaging 3.0 points and 1.8 rebounds in 11.8 minutes across 35 contests. However, the Grizzlies are very thin this season due to Ja Morant's suspension and injuries to Brandon Clarke (Achilles) and Steven Adams (knee), so there is plenty of opportunity for LaRavia this time around.... Grizzlies' Jake LaRavia: Contributes off bench Tuesday
LaRavia delivered 16 points (5-14 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 3-4 FT), six rebounds, an assist and a block across 22 minutes off the bench in Tuesday's 108-102 preseason win over the Bucks. LaRavia didn't have his best shooting performance Tuesday and struggled from behind the arc, but he still posted a solid stat line while reaching the 15-point mark. LaRavia is in the mix for bench minutes once the regular season rolls around, and he could be a decent scoring threat in the second unit. He averaged just 3.0 points per game as a rookie, but he's bound to surpass that mark if given a bigger role in 2023-24.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jake LaRavia: Big volume in win
LaRavia posted 15 points (6-14 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds, one assist, two steals and one block in 20 minutes during Sunday's 127-122 preseason win over Indiana. LaRavia's 14 shot attempts trailed only Jaren Jackson for the team lead. Despite LaRavia's single assist, he spent numerous possessions as the Grizzlies' transition ball handler or offensive initiator. The 21-year-old has point-forward upside, but he's yet to capitalize on the NBA stage. LaRavia shot 38.9 percent from the field along with a 1.17 AST/TO ratio in 35 games last season.... See More ... Grizzlies' Jake LaRavia: Feasts at free throw line
LaRavia recorded 22 points (6-15 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 8-11 FT), five rebounds, two assists and one block in 30 minutes during Wednesday's 83-74 Summer League loss to the Clippers. LaRavia has been one of Memphis' leading scorers throughout the Summer League. While his efficiency has been inconsistent, his volume from the charity stripe allowed him to post at least 20 points for the second straight outing.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jake LaRavia: Won't play Wednesday
LaRavia (calf) is out for Game 5 against the Lakers on Wednesday. LaRavia will miss his ninth straight game Wednesday due to right calf soreness. Memphis will have to win Game 5 for the rookie forward to have another opportunity of playing this postseason.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jake LaRavia: Still out Monday
LaRavia (calf) has been ruled out for Monday's Game 4 against the Lakers. LaRavia hasn't played since April 2 and continues to deal with a calf injury. His continued absence won't impact the Grizzlies' postseason rotation.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jake LaRavia: Ruled out Saturday
LaRavia (calf) is listed as out for Saturday's Game 3 matchup with the Lakers. LaRavia sat out the final four games of the regular season, and the Grizzlies haven't provided much of an update since the postseason began regarding where exactly he stands in his recovery from the hand injury. He won't be guaranteed a spot in the rotation once he's cleared to play.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jake LaRavia: Remains sidelined Wednesday
LaRavia (calf) is out for Wednesday's Game 2 matchup with the Lakers. LaRavia missed the final four games of the regular-season due to right calf soreness, and his absence will extend into the first two contests of the postseason. Even if LaRavia is cleared for Saturday's Game 3 matchup, he's unlikely to be included in head coach Taylor Jenkins' rotation.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jake LaRavia: Out for Game 1
LaRavia (calf) will not play in Game 1 of the Western Conference First Round versus the Lakers on Sunday. LaRavia will miss a fifth straight game with soreness in his right calf. However, he doesn't factor into the rotation, so his absence should have minimal impact.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jake LaRavia: Still out Sunday
LaRavia (calf) will not play in Sunday's game against the Thunder. LaRavia will miss a fourth consecutive game with right calf soreness. Although he could return for the playoffs, it's unlikely he would be part of the Grizzlies' rotation.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jake LaRavia: Brief run with Hustle ahead Friday
LaRavia will join the Hustle for Friday's playoff game before rejoining the Grizzlies for the evening game versus the Clippers. LaRavia will likely see action in the G League contest Friday morning, but he's unlikely to see the 21 minutes of action he saw against the Clippers on Wednesday in the rematch Friday evening. Including Wednesday's increased playing time, LaRavia has just 12 appearances under the belt since the calendar flip to 2023, averaging 7.1 minutes per game.... See More ... See Less -
Grizzlies' Jake LaRavia: Paces team on scoreboard
LaRavia tallied 25 points (8-18 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 3-4 FT), three rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in 33 minutes during Friday's 119-105 loss to Sioux Falls. LaRavia made his first G League appearance in a month during Friday's defeat, but he was the Hustle's leading scorer against the Skyforce. He'll have a chance to see more minutes with the Hustle after playing a minimal role with the Grizzlies.... See More ... See Less
