Grubauer stopped 15 of 17 shots in Thursday's 2-1 loss to the Devils. The Kraken threw 38 pucks at Akira Schmid in the other net, but they only gave Grubauer one goal of support. This was Grubauer's fourth loss in a row -- he's been responsible for two-thirds of the team's current losing streak. The 32-year-old has yet to give up fewer than two goals in an outing this season, yielding a pair of tallies in four of his 16 appearances. He's also yet to give up more than four goals in any game. Grubauer is at a 3.26 GAA and an .883 save percentage with a 5-9-1 record.... See More ... See Less

Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Facing Devils
Grubauer will patrol the blue paint at home versus New Jersey on Thursday, Mike Benton of the Kraken Audio Network reports. Grubauer hasn't won in his last four appearances, giving up 12 goals on 87 shots. His 2023-24 campaign isn't a lot better, as he is 5-8-1 with a 3.35 GAA and .883 save percentage. Grubauer is in line for another tough outing as the Devils are fourth in NHL scoring, averaging 3.70 goals per game.... See More ... See Less -
Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Falls to Canadiens
Grubauer allowed three goals on 29 shots in Monday's 4-2 loss to Montreal. It's been a tough stretch for Grubauer, who's gone 3-3-1 with an ugly .859 save percentage over his last eight appearances. The 32-year-old netminder allowed three goals through the first two periods Monday, putting the Kraken at a deficit they couldn't overcome. Grubauer is now 5-8-1 with an .883 save percentage this season. Seattle will host the Devils in its next contest Thursday.... See More ... See Less -
Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Marnerized in loss
Grubauer made 25 saves in a 4-3 shootout loss to Toronto on Thursday. He was victimized by Mitchell Marner, who not only drained a hat trick but also notched the winner in the shootout. Grubauer is 5-7-1 with a 3.37 GAA and .882 save percentage. So far, this is the third straight season where Grubauer has put up a save percentage below .895. He's a hard man to roll out in your blue paint.... See More ... See Less -
Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Set to face Maple Leafs
Grubauer will patrol the visiting crease versus Toronto on Thursday, per Mark Masters of TSN. Grubauer has struggled since signing with the Kraken three seasons ago, going 40-52-9 with an .889 save percentage. This season has been no different, as Grubauer is 5-7-0 with a 3.42 GAA and .881 save percentage. The Maple Leafs are 14th in NHL scoring, averaging 3.30 goals per contest.... See More ... See Less -
Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Returns to crease Tuesday
Grubauer (undisclosed) will guard the road goal Tuesday versus Chicago, per Alison Lukan of Root Sports. Grubauer, who will return from a two-game absence, has posted a 5-6-0 record this season with a 3.36 GAA and an .885 save percentage in 12 appearances. The Blackhawks rank 29th in the league this campaign with 2.58 goals per contest.... See More ... See Less -
Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Going on road trip
Grubauer (undisclosed) will travel with the Kraken on the team's upcoming road trip, per Mike Benton of the Kraken Audio Network. Per Benton, Grubauer, who has missed the past two games, was on the ice before Saturday's practice. If Grubauer is able to return for Tuesday's contest against Chicago, Chris Driedger will be returned to AHL Coachella Valley.... See More ... See Less -
Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Unavailable Friday
Grubauer (undisclosed) will not suit up Friday against the Canucks, per the NHL's media site. Grubauer has now missed the last two games for Seattle while dealing with a mystery injury. The 31-year-old is 5-6-0 with an .885 save percentage through 12 games this season. Joey Daccord will start Friday while Chris Driedger serves as the backup.... See More ... See Less -
Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Won't play Wednesday
Grubauer (undisclosed) has been labeled day-to-day and won't be an option against the Sharks on Wednesday, Alison Lukan of Root Sports reports. Grubauer has given up two or more goals in all 12 of his appearances this season, registering a 3.35 GAA and an .885 save percentage over that span. With the German netminder sidelined, Joey Daccord figures to start against the Sharks on Wednesday while Chris Driedger serves as the No. 2 option.... See More ... See Less -
Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Deemed day-to-day
Grubauer (undisclosed) is considered day-to-day after being injured in the first period of Monday's 4-3 overtime loss to Calgary, per Sound of Hockey. Coach Dave Hakstol said Tuesday that there's "a good chance" that Chris Driedger will be brought up from AHL Coachella Valley ahead of Wednesday's contest versus San Jose. If Grubauer, who didn't practice Tuesday, isn't available to suit up versus the Sharks, Joey Daccord will probably be between the pipes.... See More ... See Less -
Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Quick hook Monday
Grubauer stopped five of seven shots in the first period of Monday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Flames. Grubauer was run into by Martin Pospisil during the opening frame, which may have played a part in the netminder's early exit. Nonetheless, Grubauer was on the bench for most of the rest of the contest, aside from being absent at the start of the second period. If the Kraken don't call up a goalie from AHL Coachella Valley before Wednesday's game versus the Sharks, it's safe to assume the 31-year-old Grubauer is okay. He's at a 5-6-0 record with a 3.35 GAA and an .885 save percentage after not being included in the decision Monday.... See More ... See Less -
Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: First goalie off Monday
Grubauer was the first goalie to leave the ice Monday, per Sound of Hockey, indicating he'll be in goal against the Flames at home. Grubauer is sporting a 5-2-0 record in his last seven appearances despite a 3.42 GAA and an .884 save percentage in that span. Even with his subpar numbers, the 31-year-old netminder will likely continue to start ahead of Joey Daccord, especially if Grubauer can keep doing enough to pick up wins.... See More ... See Less -

Grubauer allowed three goals on 24 shots in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Canucks. Grubauer picked up his third win in his last four outings, but it was again a struggle. He allowed a goal in each period, but he held on late to secure the victory. He's allowed at least three goals in all but two of his appearances this season, playing to a 5-6-0 record with a 3.27 GAA and an .889 save percentage over 11 starts. The Kraken's next game is against Calgary on Monday.... See More ... See Less -
Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Set to face Canucks
Grubauer is slated to guard the road crease against Vancouver on Saturday, Sound Of Hockey reports. Grubauer has a 4-6-0 record, 3.30 GAA and .890 save percentage in 10 contests with the Kraken this campaign. He's surrendered at least three goals in each of his last four outings. It'll be tough for him to bounce back against the Canucks, who lead the league offensively with 4.24 goals per game.... See More ... See Less -
Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Picks up shootout win
Grubauer stopped 21 of 24 shots in the Kraken's 4-3 shootout win over the Islanders on Thursday. Grubauer allowed a goal in each period with two of the goals coming on the power play. This game was Grubauer's first start since Nov. 11 versus Edmonton, a game in which he was pulled, and marks the sixth time in his last seven starts that he has allowed at least three goals. With both Grubauer and Joey Daccord struggling to start the season, Seattle should continue to run the hotter hand in net. Grubauer's next start could come Saturday against Vancouver.... See More ... Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Starting Thursday
Grubauer will guard the home goal Thursday versus the Islanders, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports. Grubauer was chased from Saturday's loss to the Oilers after allowing four goals on 17 shots in the first period. Joey Daccord started the last two games but allowed nine goals in that span, so Grubauer will get a chance to reclaim the crease. The Islanders are winless in their last six games (0-4-2).... See More ... See Less -
Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Chased from Saturday's loss
Grubauer gave up four goals on 17 shots in the first period of Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Oilers. Grubauer didn't get much help from his defense, as the Oilers set the tone early. Joey Daccord stopped all nine shots he faced over the final two periods in relief of Grubauer, who dropped to 3-6-0 on the year. Grubauer has added a 3.37 GAA and an .891 save percentage through nine starts. He's generally struggled versus Edmonton and excelled against Colorado, so it's possible Grubauer may face the Avalanche on Monday before ceding the crease to Daccord for Wednesday's rematch with the Oilers.... See More ... See Less -
Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Facing Oilers
Grubauer will defend the home crease versus Edmonton on Saturday, Kate Shefte of The Seattle Times reports. Grubauer has won three of his last four starts and is 3-5-0 with a 3.01 GAA and .900 save percentage overall. He faced the Oilers only once last season, giving up three goals on 10 shots before he was pulled before the midway mark of the second period in a 6-4 loss. The Oilers are struggling this season, as they are tied for last place in the NHL standings with only five points in 12 games.... See More ... See Less -
Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Picks up win in Colorado
Grubauer stopped 23 of 26 shots in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Avalanche. Grubauer let a 3-1 lead slip away, but Oliver Bjorkstrand won it for the Kraken with 32 seconds left in regulation. While it wasn't a stellar performance on the scoresheet, Grubauer was solid when he needed to be, earning his third win in his last four outings. He's now 3-5-0 with a 3.01 GAA and a .900 save percentage through eight starts this season. The Kraken return home for Saturday's game against the slow-starting Oilers.... See More ... See Less -
Kraken's Philipp Grubauer: Set to start Thursday
Grubauer is slated to face his ex-teammates in Colorado on Thursday, Kate Shefte of The Seattle Times reports. Grubauer played three seasons with the Avalanche before inking a six-year, $35.4 million contract in July of 2021 with the Kraken. Grubauer is 2-5-0 with a 3.01 GAA and a .902 save percentage this year. It is his best save percentage since he's been with the Kraken as he had an .889 and .895 save percentage in his last two seasons. He will face the Avalanche, who have scored 38 times in just 11 contests this season.... See More ... See Less
