Jones was thrust into duty Thursday when started Joseph Woll had to be helped off the ice in the third period. He made nine saves in relief. It was his first action as a Leaf. Jones delivered a 27-13-3 record in Seattle last season, but he did it on the back of a 2.99 GAA and .887 save percentage. The Brick Woll is headed for an MRI and some significant time out, so Jones is about to get the test of his career as a platoon-mate with Ilya Samsonov (illness). Snap him up, but use caution. Jones hasn't put up a save percentage over .900 since 2017-18.... See More ... See Less

Maple Leafs' Martin Jones: Up from AHL
Jones was called up by the Maple Leafs on Wednesday, according to Joshua Kloke of The Athletic. Jones has a 3.37 GAA and an .870 save percentage in five outings with AHL Toronto this year. The 33-year-old goaltender was previously summoned Saturday because Ilya Samsonov was dealing with an illness. Although Jones was returned to the minors Monday, Samsonov still isn't feeling well, which is why this move was made. Jones will likely serve as Joseph Woll's backup against Ottawa on Thursday.... Maple Leafs' Martin Jones: Sent back down
Jones was demoted to AHL Toronto on Monday, per CapFriendly. Jones was promoted to serve as the backup Saturday against Boston, but he didn't see any game action. The 33-year-old netminder has yet to appear in an NHL game this season and likely won't any time soon, barring an injury to Ilya Samsonov or Joseph Woll.... See More ... See Less -
Maple Leafs' Martin Jones: Recalled Saturday
The Maple Leafs recalled Jones from AHL Toronto on Saturday, Mark Masters of TSN reports. Ilya Samsonov is unable to play Saturday due to an illness, necessitating the recall of Jones. Jones is 2-1-1 with a 3.37 GAA and .870 save percentage at the AHL level this season.... See More ... See Less -

Maple Leafs' Martin Jones: Hits waivers
Toronto waived Jones on Sunday, Chris Johnston of TSN reports. Jones signed a one-year deal with Toronto this offseason but the team is expected to enter the year with Ilya Samsonov and Joseph Woll as the goalie tandem. Jones inked a one-year, $875,000 contract with Toronto on Wednesday. Jones posted a 27-13-3 record, 2.99 GAA and .886 save percentage in 48 contests with Seattle last season. There's a good chance the 33-year-old goaltender will start the campaign in the AHL, but he should at least get a chance to compete with Joseph Woll for the Maple Leafs' backup job during training camp.... Kraken's Martin Jones: Makes relief appearance
Jones stopped both shots he faced in relief of Philipp Grubauer in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Stars. Jones was hardly tested in his first game action since April 8, which was a game he left early after suffering a hand injury. The Stars had an empty-netter in the third period after the Kraken got within striking distance. Jones is likely to resume his backup duties in Game 5 on Thursday, as Grubauer has been the starter throughout the postseason and isn't likely to lose that title after one poor outing.... Jones (hand) left Saturday's game versus the Blackhawks after the second period, Kraken radio announcer Mike Benton reports. Jones was seen wincing after a save late in the second period, and Philipp Grubauer took over for the third. Jones left with the Kraken ahead 5-3, putting him in position for his 27th win of the season, but it's his health that will be of greater concern given how late it is in the campaign.... See More ... He gave up both goals in the first period before settling in for the comeback win, his second victory in his last three outings. Jones is up to 26-13-3 with a 2.92 GAA and an .888 save percentage through 47 appearances this season. The 33-year-old has put together a decent season while sharing the crease with Philipp Grubauer, though it's unclear which goalie will get the nod for Thursday's game versus the Coyotes.... Kraken's Martin Jones: In goal Tuesday
Jones will guard the road goal Tuesday versus the Canucks, per Sound of Hockey. Jones will handle the second half of a back-to-back after Philipp Grubauer won Monday versus the Coyotes. Kraken's Martin Jones: Loses low-scoring game
Jones stopped 16 of 18 shots in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Kings. The third goal was an empty-netter. Jones has allowed just four goals on 44 shots over his last three outings (two starts), but he's just 1-1-0 in that span. The 33-year-old didn't get much help Saturday, as the Kraken were stymied by Pheonix Copley and the Kings' defense. Jones slipped to 25-13-3 with a 2.99 GAA and an .886 save percentage through 46 appearances. Both he and Philipp Grubauer should start in one of the next two games, as the Kraken host the Coyotes on Monday and visit the Canucks on Tuesday.... See More ... See Less -

Jones stopped 18 of 19 shots in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Ducks. Jones picked up his first win since Feb. 28 with a strong outing, albeit against a weaker opponent. The lone goal against him came late in the second period after the Kraken failed to clear their zone. Jones is up to 25-12-3 with a 3.01 GAA and an .886 save percentage through 45 appearances this season. The Kraken's next game is a much tougher one Saturday versus the Kings, though it's unclear which one of Jones or Philipp Grubauer will get the start.... See More ... See Less -
Kraken's Martin Jones: Expected to start Thursday
Jones was the first goaltender off the ice at practice Thursday, indicating he will get the home start versus Anaheim, Kraken radio announcer Mike Benton reports. Jones came on in relief of Philipp Grubauer on Monday, stopping six of seven shots. Jones is having a good season as far as his record is concerned, going 24-12-3 with three shutouts. His problem has been his peripherals, as he has a 3.06 GAA and .885 save percentage. His good record is due to the fact that the Kraken have averaged 3.48 goals per game, fourth best in the NHL.
