2h agoWarren rushed seven times for 11 yards and secured four of five targets for 29 yards in the Steelers' 21-18 loss to the Patriots on Thursday night.
Warren slogged through his most inefficient game of the season on the ground, although his receiving yardage total was his highest since Week 5. The second-year pro logged five fewer carries than backfield mate Najee Harris overall, and although he was more involved than the latter in the passing game, Warren figures to remain in a complementary role in a Week 15 road matchup against the Colts a week from Saturday.

3h agoPickens secured five of six targets for 19 yards in the Steelers' 21-18 loss to the Patriots on Thursday night.
The talented second-year wideout struggled yet again to make an impact, although Mitch Trubisky's lackluster play certainly played a large part in Pickens' struggles. Pickens' catch total was a team high on the night, but his 3.8 yards per reception made it a completely unproductive performance outside of season-long or daily full-PPR formats. Pickens does have at least four receptions in three of the past four games, and he'll aim to take advantage of a more vulnerable Colts secondary in a Week 15 road matchup.

3h agoFreiermuth brought in three of seven targets for 18 yards and also recorded a two-point conversion catch in the Steelers' 21-18 loss to the Patriots on Thursday night.
Freiermuth was one of the statistical victims of Mitch Trubisky's struggles with efficiency Thursday, finishing with his fifth sub-20-yard tally of the campaign in the process. The third-year tight end did manage to boost his overall fantasy production to a modest degree with his two-point conversion reception following the Steelers' final touchdown of the night in the fourth quarter. However, he remains very hard to trust due to Pittsburgh's quarterback issues heading into a Week 15 road matchup against the Colts on Saturday, Dec. 16.

Johnson's receiving yardage paced the Steelers on the night by a wide margin, and his targets were also a team high. The fifth-year pro's yardage tally was also his highest since Week 9, and he's now scored in consecutive contests for the first time this season after recording a 25-yard touchdown grab late in the third quarter. Johnson was the intended target on Mitch Trubisky's fourth-down heave down the left sideline with 1:55 remaining, but the speedy wideout was unable to gain enough separation to come close to making a catch. Johnson next takes aim at a more vulnerable Colts secondary in a Week 15 road matchup on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 16.

3h agoHenry brought in all three targets for 40 yards and two touchdowns in the Patriots' 21-18 win over the Steelers on Thursday night.
Henry's breakout night, like the performance of the Patriots' typically moribund offense as a whole, was considerably unexpected. The veteran tight end recorded eight- and 24-yard scoring grabs in the second quarter, the second an especially impressive reception among multiple defenders. Henry had only crossed the goal line once since Week 2 prior to Thursday, and it remains to be seen if he'll be able to replicate his numbers against a stingy Chiefs defense in a Week 15 home battle on Sunday, Dec. 17.

3h agoSmith-Schuster secured four of six targets for 90 yards in the Patriots' 21-18 win over the Steelers on Thursday night.
Smith-Schuster led the Patriots in receiving yardage with what was also his highest tally since Week 7 of last season with the Chiefs. The 2017 second-round pick of the Steelers burned his original squad with a game-long 37-yard grab on New England's third offensive play, and he added 17- and 28-yard receptions later in the first half. Smith-Schuster's overall performance was easily his most productive of what has otherwise been a mostly lackluster campaign, but he could have a difficult time putting together a successful encore against the highly talented secondary of his other prior team, the Chiefs, in a Week 15 home matchup on Sunday, Dec. 17.

Suero was lit up for seven earned runs over just eight major-league innings with the Dodgers in 2023 and did not reach the MLB level at all in 2022. The 32-year-old right-hander will likely be Triple-A bullpen depth for the Astros.

White was just acquired from the Mariners on Sunday as part of the Jarred Kelenic trade, but the 27-year-old former top prospect has already lost his 40-man roster spot. White is a career .165/.235/.308 hitter in 306 major-league plate appearances and missed the majority of the 2023 season following May hip surgery.

14h agoPerdomo (elbow) signed a one-year, non-guaranteed split contract with Atlanta on Thursday.
Perdomo was non-tendered by Atlanta last month, a few weeks after being claimed off waivers from the Pirates, but he's back now to continue his Tommy John rehab with the reigning NL East champs. The 29-year-old underwent the reconstructive elbow procedure in October, so he's doubtful to pitch at all in 2024.

14h agoSteer is in line to play regularly in the outfield following the Reds' signing of Jeimer Candelario, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Cincinnati made a crowded infield situation even more crowded with its acquisition of Candelario. Steer is an infielder by trade, but he made 38 starts in the outfield in 2023 and would appear pegged for regular left field duty in 2024. Even with Steer slated to play mostly in the outfield next season, the Reds would still appear to have at least one more infielder than they have starting spots. Jonathan India remains a good bet to be traded.

14h agoYankees general manager Brian Cashman said Thursday that Judge's toe injury is "a resolved issue," Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
Judge tore a ligament in his right big toe when he crashed through a wall June 4 at Dodger Stadium and spent about two months on the injured list, but it has healed on its own without surgery, and he should be 100 percent steering into the 2024 campaign. The 31-year-old slugger projects to serve as the Opening Day center fielder for New York, with recent trade acquisitions Juan Soto and Alex Verdugo flanking him in the corners. Trent Grisham will be an active fourth outfielder.

15h agoYankees general manager Brian Cashman said Thursday that he has not had any talks with Soto regarding a contract extension, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
The revelation comes as no surprise, as the full expectation for a while now has been that Soto and his agent, Scott Boras, plan to test out free agency next offseason. Soto famously rejected a 15-year, $440 million contract extension offer from the Nationals in 2022, which led to him being traded the first time to the Padres. The 25-year-old will surely be looking for at least that much next winter, although a lot can happen between now and then.

Lopez has reached double figures in scoring in 12 of his last outings, adding five or more rebounds in nine of those games. He has recorded at least four blocks on eight occasions, including in three of his last five contests.

Hanley sat out the first 10 contests of the season, but he's since found a more regular path to playing time. He filled in when Thomas Harley was hurt, and Hanley has now started to push the struggling Nils Lundkvist for the last spot in the lineup with the Stars at virtually full health. Hanley has no points with seven hits, six blocked shots, two shots on goal and a minus-1 rating over seven appearances, so he's still not likely to be much of an asset for fantasy managers.

Dellandrea got a decent run of playing time when the team was missing forwards at various points in November, but he's now sat out four of the last six games. With Sam Steel playing better, Dellandrea's best path to getting in the lineup is to leap over Evgenii Dadonov or Craig Smith on the depth chart. Dellandrea has managed just one assist, 12 shots on net, 21 hits and a minus-5 rating through 14 appearances this season.

Steel has five points this season, three of which have come over his last four games. The 25-year-old remains in a fourth-line role, but he's earning more trust from head coach Pete DeBoer with the strong play. Steel has added 25 shots on net, 10 PIM and a minus-1 rating over 20 appearances. If his offense stays warm, Steel should maintain his place in the lineup over Ty Dellandrea.

Benn took a shot toward the net that clipped off Roope Hintz and found its way over the goal line. Benn hasn't been on the scoresheet in consecutive games since Nov. 18-20. The 34-year-old is still providing solid offense in a middle-six role with five goals, 13 helpers, 41 shots on net and a plus-2 rating through 25 outings. He's added 17 PIM, 23 hits and 19 blocked shots to supply some of his usual physicality.

Heiskanen helped out on Tyler Seguin's first-period marker. With four assists over his last five outings, Heiskanen is starting to get his offense back to the level that's expected of one of the best young blueliners in the league. The 24-year-old is at 16 points, 52 shots on net, 42 blocked shots, 21 hits and a minus-6 rating through 25 games this season. He's averaging 25:18 of ice time per game, including 2:58 on the power play, so he should have plenty of chances to be a positive contributor.

Duchene played in his 1,000th NHL game Thursday and celebrated the occasion by setting up Mason Marchment's second-period tally. In his career, Duchene has has been solid on offense with 764 points (322 goals, 442 assists). The 32-year-old center has three helpers over his last two games and is now up to 20 points, 54 shots on net and a plus-5 rating through 24 contests in his first year with the Stars.
