Jaylen Warren PIT RB
Steelers' Jaylen Warren: Compiles 40 total yards in loss
2h agoWarren rushed seven times for 11 yards and secured four of five targets for 29 yards in the Steelers' 21-18 loss to the Patriots on Thursday night.
Warren slogged through his most inefficient game of the season on the ground, although his receiving yardage total was his highest since Week 5. The second-year pro logged five fewer carries than backfield mate Najee Harris overall, and although he was more involved than the latter in the passing game, Warren figures to remain in a complementary role in a Week 15 road matchup against the Colts a week from Saturday.
-
George Pickens PIT WR
Steelers' George Pickens: Team-high reception total in loss
3h agoPickens secured five of six targets for 19 yards in the Steelers' 21-18 loss to the Patriots on Thursday night.
The talented second-year wideout struggled yet again to make an impact, although Mitch Trubisky's lackluster play certainly played a large part in Pickens' struggles. Pickens' catch total was a team high on the night, but his 3.8 yards per reception made it a completely unproductive performance outside of season-long or daily full-PPR formats. Pickens does have at least four receptions in three of the past four games, and he'll aim to take advantage of a more vulnerable Colts secondary in a Week 15 road matchup.
-
Pat Freiermuth PIT TE
Steelers' Pat Freiermuth: Quiet night in loss
3h agoFreiermuth brought in three of seven targets for 18 yards and also recorded a two-point conversion catch in the Steelers' 21-18 loss to the Patriots on Thursday night.
Freiermuth was one of the statistical victims of Mitch Trubisky's struggles with efficiency Thursday, finishing with his fifth sub-20-yard tally of the campaign in the process. The third-year tight end did manage to boost his overall fantasy production to a modest degree with his two-point conversion reception following the Steelers' final touchdown of the night in the fourth quarter. However, he remains very hard to trust due to Pittsburgh's quarterback issues heading into a Week 15 road matchup against the Colts on Saturday, Dec. 16.
-
Diontae Johnson PIT WR
Steelers' Diontae Johnson: Paces pass catchers in loss
3h agoJohnson secured three of seven targets for 57 yards and a touchdown in the Steelers' 21-18 loss to the Patriots on Thursday night.
Johnson's receiving yardage paced the Steelers on the night by a wide margin, and his targets were also a team high. The fifth-year pro's yardage tally was also his highest since Week 9, and he's now scored in consecutive contests for the first time this season after recording a 25-yard touchdown grab late in the third quarter. Johnson was the intended target on Mitch Trubisky's fourth-down heave down the left sideline with 1:55 remaining, but the speedy wideout was unable to gain enough separation to come close to making a catch. Johnson next takes aim at a more vulnerable Colts secondary in a Week 15 road matchup on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 16.
-
Hunter Henry NE TE
Patriots' Hunter Henry: Records pair of TDs in win
3h agoHenry brought in all three targets for 40 yards and two touchdowns in the Patriots' 21-18 win over the Steelers on Thursday night.
Henry's breakout night, like the performance of the Patriots' typically moribund offense as a whole, was considerably unexpected. The veteran tight end recorded eight- and 24-yard scoring grabs in the second quarter, the second an especially impressive reception among multiple defenders. Henry had only crossed the goal line once since Week 2 prior to Thursday, and it remains to be seen if he'll be able to replicate his numbers against a stingy Chiefs defense in a Week 15 home battle on Sunday, Dec. 17.
-
JuJu Smith-Schuster NE WR
Patriots' JuJu Smith-Schuster: Season-high yardage total in win
3h agoSmith-Schuster secured four of six targets for 90 yards in the Patriots' 21-18 win over the Steelers on Thursday night.
Smith-Schuster led the Patriots in receiving yardage with what was also his highest tally since Week 7 of last season with the Chiefs. The 2017 second-round pick of the Steelers burned his original squad with a game-long 37-yard grab on New England's third offensive play, and he added 17- and 28-yard receptions later in the first half. Smith-Schuster's overall performance was easily his most productive of what has otherwise been a mostly lackluster campaign, but he could have a difficult time putting together a successful encore against the highly talented secondary of his other prior team, the Chiefs, in a Week 15 home matchup on Sunday, Dec. 17.
-
Mitch Trubisky PIT QB
Steelers' Mitch Trubisky: Largely ineffective in start
4h agoTrubisky completed 22 of 35 passes for 190 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the Steelers' 21-18 loss to the Patriots on Thursday night. He also rushed eight times for 30 yards and another score and threw a two-point conversion pass.
Making his first start of Kenny Pickett's (ankle) projected multi-game absence, Trubisky turned in a lackluster effort that featured plenty of inaccurate throws and saw him average only 5.4 yards per attempt. The veteran did serve as the Steelers' leading rusher -- albeit with a modest yardage total -- and connected with Diontae Johnson on a 25-yard touchdown pass late in the second quarter. Trubisky added a one-yard scoring sneak early in the fourth quarter following a blocked punt that set the Steelers up in excellent field position, and he tacked on a sharp two-point conversion pass to Pat Freiermuth after that touchdown. However, Pittsburgh's next two drives ended in a punt and on downs, and Trubisky then padded his final numbers with 24- and 21-yard completions to Johnson and Allen Robinson, respectively, on the final two plays. With some additional time between Thursday's contest and a Week 15 Saturday afternoon road matchup against the Colts on Dec. 16, it remains to be seen if Trubisky is usurped by Mason Rudolph for a start if Pickett remains out, as is highly likely.
-
Bailey Zappe NE QB
Patriots' Bailey Zappe: Three-touchdown effort in win
4h agoZappe completed 19 of 28 passes for 240 yards with three touchdowns and one interception in the Patriots' 21-18 win over the Steelers on Thursday night. He also rushed three times for 13 yards.
Zappe was the overriding reason a game with the lowest projected total in 30 years exceeded expectations, with the second-year signal-caller turning in the first three-touchdown effort of his career. A bulk of Zappe's success came in the first half, when he connected with Ezekiel Elliott (11 yards) and Hunter Henry (eight, 24 yards) for his trio of scoring tosses. Zappe didn't lead the Patriots to any second-half points, but his one turnover didn't lead to any Steelers scores, either. Given the virtually unprecedented offensive success -- by the Patriots' 2023 standards -- Zappe was able to help spearhead Thursday, he seems like a lock to draw a Week 15 home start against the Chiefs on Sunday, Dec. 17.
-
Geno Smith SEA QB
Seahawks' Geno Smith: Dealing with groin issue
8h agoSmith was limited at Thursday's practice due to a groin injury, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
Smith avoided the Seahawks' first Week 14 practice report Wednesday, so his addition to the list one day later puts the spotlight on Friday to help determine if he may be in danger of sitting out Sunday in San Francisco. He's coming off his fourth 300-yard passing performance of the season last Thursday at Dallas, but he also mustered just 180 yards, no touchdowns and one interception on 18-for-27 passing when Seattle hosted the 49ers back in Week 12.
-
Mason Rudolph PIT QB
Steelers' Mason Rudolph: Active for TNF
8h agoRudolph is active for the Steelers' matchup with the Patriots on Thursday Night Football, Teresa Varley of the team's official website reports.
Rudolph has operated as the team's emergency quarterback a few times this season, but with Kenny Pickett (ankle) unavailable for Week 14, Rudolph will be Pittsburgh's backup behind Mitch Trubisky. The quarterback hasn't appeared in a game since the 2021 campaign.
-
Bailey Zappe NE QB
Patriots' Bailey Zappe: Another start expected
9h agoZappe is expected to start Thursday night's game against the Steelers, Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site reports.
Though coach Bill Belichick declined to publicly name the team's Week 14 starting QB, Zappe appears poised to log another turn on the heels of completing 13 of 25 passes for 141 yards with no touchdowns or turnovers in this past Sunday's 6-0 loss to the Chargers. Given the state of 2-10 New England's offense -- which will be without RB Rhamondre Stevenson (ankle) and WRs DeVante Parker (knee), Demario Douglas (concussion) and Kayshon Boutte (shoulder) on Thursday -- Zappe is a lineup option in only the deepest of fantasy formats.
-
Aaron Rodgers NYJ QB
Jets' Aaron Rodgers: Limited in return to practice
9h agoRodgers (Achilles) was a limited practice participant Thursday.
Rodgers was held out of Wednesday's session seemingly as part of a pre-planned maintenance program for his surgically repaired Achilles, but as expected, he was back on the field Thursday, albeit with a cap on his reps. Since having his 21-day evaluation window opened Nov. 29, Rodgers has managed three limited practices over five total sessions. Rodgers has previously stated that he's aiming to return for a Week 16 game against the Commanders on Dec. 24, but the odds of the 40-year-old quarterback playing again this season appear to be dwindling while the 4-8 Jets have started to fade from the AFC playoff picture. Another loss Sunday to the Texans or in Week 15 against the Dolphins could prompt Rodgers to close the door on a return to game action this season, though Ian Rapoport of NFL Network recently reported that Rodgers could be added to the 53-man roster when his evaluation window closes and continue to take part in practices while serving as an emergency No. 3 quarterback over the Jets' final three games.
-
Jaylen Warren PIT RB
-
Najee Harris PIT RB
Steelers' Najee Harris: Accrues 48 total yards
4h agoHarris rushed 12 times for 29 yards and secured all three targets for 19 yards in the Steelers' 21-18 loss to the Patriots on Thursday night.
Harris was unsurprisingly stymied on the ground by an elite Patriots run defense, and he wasn't able to do much to complement his production with his work through the air. The third-year back did outpace backfield mate Jaylen Warren by five carries, although the latter drew two more targets. It was a forgettable night for both backs, so Harris' role should remain robust in a more palatable Week 15 road matchup against the Colts on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 16.
-
Ezekiel Elliott NE RB
Patriots' Ezekiel Elliott: Excels in versatile role Thursday
4h agoElliott rushed 22 times for 68 yards and brought in seven of eight targets for 72 yards and a touchdown in the Patriots' 21-18 win over the Steelers on Thursday night.
With Rhamondre Stevenson (ankle) sidelined, Elliott had the Patriots' ground game all to himself, but it was his work as a pass catcher that really stood out. The veteran back led the Patriots in receptions and targets as Bailey Zappe utilized him heavily in the pass game, and Elliott recorded his first receiving touchdown since Week 16 of the 2021 season on an 11-yard grab to cap off New England's game-opening drive. Elliott also shouldered his heaviest workload on the ground since Week 5 of last season, when he logged the same number of carries with the Cowboys in a game against the Rams. Given his volume in the first installment of what's projected to be a multi-game absence for Stevenson, Elliott has solid fantasy prospects heading into a Week 15 home matchup against the Chiefs on Sunday, Dec. 17.
-
Zach Charbonnet SEA RB
Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Gets back to limited Thursday
8h agoCharbonnet (knee) was a limited practice participant Thursday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
Both Charbonnet and fellow RB Kenneth Walker (oblique) followed up no activity Wednesday with capped sessions one day later, giving them chances to be available Sunday at San Francisco. Charbonnet took on lead duties out of Seattle's backfield the last two games with Walker sidelined, but the rookie second-rounder also suffered a bruised knee in the fourth quarter last Thursday in Dallas. If either player is inhibited or out this weekend, there's a chance the Seahawks turn to DeeJay Dallas as their main running back.
-
Kenneth Walker III SEA RB
Seahawks' Kenneth Walker: Returns to limited practice
9h agoWalker (oblique) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
The same can be said for No. 2 running back Zach Charbonnet (knee), meaning Friday's session will be key for both players as the Seahawks prepare for Sunday's visit to the 49ers. Walker has missed two straight games due to a strained oblique, and while Charbonnet has been filling in for him, he sustained a bruised knee in the fourth quarter last Thursday at Dallas. Walker's upcoming workload, if he's active, may be contingent on Charbonnet's availability, but if both are inhibited or sidelined, DeeJay Dallas could be the Seahawks' primary runner this weekend.
-
JaMycal Hasty NE RB
Patriots' JaMycal Hasty: Inactive Thursday
9h agoHasty (coach's decision) is inactive for Thursday night's game against the Steelers, Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site reports.
Hasty appeared to have a chance to play with Rhamondre Stevenson out with an ankle injury, but instead he is a healthy scratch for the second week in a row. The running back signed with New England in Week 13 after being let go by the Jaguars on Nov. 11. The fourth-year pro did not carry the ball on six offensive snaps with Jacksonville.
-
George Pickens PIT WR
-
Diontae Johnson PIT WR
-
JuJu Smith-Schuster NE WR
-
D'Wayne Eskridge SEA WR
Seahawks' Dee Eskridge: Misses practice Thursday
8h agoEskridge (ribs) did not participate in practice Thursday after fully participating in Wednesday's session, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
The wide receiver sat out of the Seahawks' Week 13 loss to the Cowboys with the injury. Eskridge does not have a catch this season on 16 offensive snaps, though he is Seattle's kick returner.
-
Jake Bobo SEA WR
Seahawks' Jake Bobo: Practices fully
8h agoBobo (knee) was a full participant in practice Thursday after participating on a limited basis Wednesday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
The depth wide receiver first appeared on the injury report Wednesday. Bobo has 15 catches for 171 yards and two touchdowns as well as a rushing touchdown in 2023.
-
Shaquan Davis NO WR
Shaquan Davis: Back from injured list
8h agoDavis (undisclosed) was reinstated from the Saints' practice squad injured list Thursday.
Davis is available for the first time since suffering an undisclosed injury in early October, returning to his role on the team's practice squad. The wide receiver has yet to make his NFL debut after signing with New Orleans as an undrafted free agent in April.
-
Pat Freiermuth PIT TE
Steelers' Pat Freiermuth: Quiet night in loss
3h agoFreiermuth brought in three of seven targets for 18 yards and also recorded a two-point conversion catch in the Steelers' 21-18 loss to the Patriots on Thursday night.
Freiermuth was one of the statistical victims of Mitch Trubisky's struggles with efficiency Thursday, finishing with his fifth sub-20-yard tally of the campaign in the process. -
Durham Smythe MIA TE
Dolphins' Durham Smythe: Misses practice Thursday
8h agoSmythe (ankle) did not participate at the Dolphins' practice Thursday.
Smythe was unavailable for the team's first practice session of the week due to an ankle injury, which he seemingly picked up last week versus the Commanders. The tight end will have two more opportunities to return to the field prior to Monday's matchup with the Titans.
-
Tyler Higbee LAR TE
Rams' Tyler Higbee: Remains sidelined at practice
9h agoHigbee (neck) didn't practice Thursday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
Higbee continues to be sidelined during Week 14 prep due to the neck stinger that he sustained this past Sunday against the Browns. He'll thus have just one more chance to mix into drills this week before the Rams potentially make a ruling on his status ahead of Sunday's game at Baltimore.
-
Tyler Conklin NYJ TE
Jets' Tyler Conklin: Another limited session
10h agoConklin (hamstring) remained limited at practice Thursday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Following back-to-back capped sessions to start the week, Conklin may need to practice fully Friday in order to avoid carrying an injury designation ahead of Sunday's game against the Texans. In the Jets' 13-8 loss to the Falcons in Week 13, Conklin logged a team-high nine targets but hauled in only three of them for 35 yards.
-
Dalton Schultz HOU TE
Texans' Dalton Schultz: Misses Thursday's practice
10h agoSchultz (hamstring) didn't practice Thursday.
Schultz, who missed this past Sunday's game against the Broncos, logged a limited practice Wednesday, so his downgrade to non-participation a day later is notable, though it could potentially be indicative of load management rather than a setback. Friday's injury report should add valuable context with regard to the tight end's status for Sunday's game at the Jets.
-
Daniel Carlson LV K
Raiders' Daniel Carlson: Misses practice Thursday
8h agoCarlson (illness) did not participate in practice Thursday, Anthony Galaviz of The Fresno Bee reports.
The kicker was not listed on Wednesday's injury report. His status will be something to monitor as the Raiders' Week 14 matchup with the Vikings approaches. Las Vegas does not have another kicker on its roster.
-
Lucas Havrisik LAR K
Rams' Lucas Havrisik: Could be replaced by veteran
1d agoHavrisik could lose his job as the Rams' top kicker Sunday against the Ravens, as the team is considering elevating veteran Mason Crosby, whom they signed to their practice squad Wednesday, Adam Grosbard of The Orange County Register reports.
Havrisik was chosen to replace Brett Maher as Los Angeles' kicker beginning in Week 8, but he's largely struggled in the role, going just 7-for-10 on field-goal tries, with two of the three misses coming from inside 50 yards. Consequently, Crosby was added to the practice squad and is now under consideration to replace Havrisik as the team's kicker for Week 14. Nonetheless, head coach Sean McVay said Wednesday that the Rams won't yet be cutting Havrisik, so the team may be setting up a competition between Crosby and Havrisik before settling on a permanent option.
-
Mason Crosby LAR K
Mason Crosby: Could kick for Rams on Sunday
1d agoThe Rams could elevate Crosby from the practice squad for Sunday's game against Baltimore, Adam Grosbard of The Orange County Register reports.
The Rams signed Crosby to their practice squad Wednesday, and the team may not wait long to summon him to the active roster. Until signing with the Rams, the 39-year-old had been a free agent after converting on 25 of 29 field-goal tries with the Packers in 2022. Lucas Havrisik has been Los Angeles' kicker since Week 8, but he's struggled of late, missing a pair of field goals over the past two weeks. In any case, the Rams don't intend to cut Havrisik even if they elevate Crosby for Week 14, per Grosbard.
-
Matt Ammendola HOU K
Texans' Matt Ammendola: Likely kicking for another week
2d agoAmmendola will likely serve as the Texans' kicker Sunday against the Jets, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Ka'imi Fairbairn (quadricep) is eligible to return from injured reserve this week after missing the Texans' last four contests, but the kicker doesn't look as though he's made enough progress in his recovery yet to be ready to play Sunday. As a result, the 26-year-old Ammendola appears set for a fifth straight turn as Houston's kicker. In his first four games with the team, Ammendola has knocked down all 10 of his point-after tries and six of nine field-goal attempts, with two of those misses coming from beyond 50 yards.
-
Mason Crosby LAR K
Mason Crosby: Finds new opportunity
2d agoCrosby signed with the Rams' practice squad Wednesday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Crosby has remained a free agent since March after departing Green Bay following 16 seasons, but he'll now have another opportunity in the NFL. The 39-year-old kicker will join the Rams as a member of the practice squad, but Garafolo relays that the team intends to move him to the 53-man roster in the near future. Assuming he's eventually promoted, Crosby will become the Rams' third kicker this season after they let Brett Maher go after seven games and now appear set to move on from Lucas Havrisik.
-
Anders Carlson GB K
Packers' Anders Carlson: Comes up clutch in win
3d agoCarlson made two field goals and three extra points in Sunday's 27-19 victory over the Chiefs.
Carlson had missed a kick of some variety in four straight appearances entering Sunday's contest, but he was true on all his attempts in Week 13, including field goals from 40 and 48 yards that gave the Packers successive five- and eight-point leads late in the fourth quarter. The Packers stuck by Carslon through his rough patch, and they figure to do the same rest of the way.
-
Alex Highsmith PIT LB
Steelers' Alex Highsmith: Downgraded to out
6h agoHighsmith (neck) is out for the rest of Thursday night's game against the Patriots, Steelers' Senior Director of Communications Burt Lauten reports.
The linebacker suffered the neck injury earlier in the first half, walked off on his own and entered the medical tent. Highsmith made two tackles before leaving the game. The fourth-year pro has 49 tackles on the season, including six sacks.
-
Alex Highsmith PIT LB
Steelers' Alex Highsmith: Questionable to return
7h agoHighsmith left Thursday night's game against the Patriots with a neck injury and is questionable to return, Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com reports.
The linebacker walked off the field on his own and entered the medical tent, per Mike DeFabo of The Athletic. Highsmith made two tackles before exiting. The fourth-year pro has 49 tackles, including six sacks, two passes defensed, an interception and two forced fumbles in 2023.
-
Jamal Adams SEA SS
Seahawks' Jamal Adams: Practices Thursday
8h agoAdams (knee) was a limited participant in practice Thursday after missing Wednesday's session, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
Adams is trending in the right direction as the Seahawks' Week 14 matchup with the 49ers approaches. The safety has 44 tackles and two passes defensed in eight games this season.
-
Byron Young LAR LB
Rams' Byron Young: Practices Thursday
8h agoYoung (knee) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice after missing Wednesday's session, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
The starting outside linebacker is trending in the right direction as the Rams' Week 14 matchup with the Ravens approaches. Young has 50 tackles, including five sacks, and two forced fumbles in 2023.
-
Quentin Lake LAR SAF
Rams' Quentin Lake: Practices Thursday
8h agoLake (hamstring) was a limited participant in practice Thursday after missing Wednesday's session, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
It's a step in the right direction for the starting free safety ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Ravens. Lake has missed the last two games with his injury. The second-year pro has 33 tackles, three passes defensed and a fumble recovery in 2023.
-
Cameron Jordan NO DE
Saints' Cameron Jordan: Back at practice
8h agoJordan (ankle) was a limited participant at the Saints' practice Thursday, Brooke Kirchhofer of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Jordan was unable to participate at Wednesday's first practice session of the week, but he was able to be back out on the field Thursday. The defensive end has been able to play through the ankle issue each of the last two weeks and he appears likely to go Sunday versus the Panthers.
